Object Rotterdam 2014

I hereby would like to share the favorites of Object Rotterdam, a part of Festival Art Rotterdam and held in De Rotterdam (a brilliant architectural phenomenon of 150 meters high, designed by Rem Koolhaas). Visitors where given the opportunity to sneak a peak into a penthouse at the 44th floor and some apartments on the 30th floor where a part of the expo also took place. Luckily the weather was good so that I could wave at my apartment across the water (the red with white building somewhere in the middle of the second picture).

Like in the previous post I didn’t succeed in getting the names of all the designers and artists. But!…(that should not spoil the fun……of sharing…..yes.).

First reaction when I walked in the 44 storeys high penthouse: “uuh..hi hi….uuuuuh….wooooooowww.”

I don’t know what it was, but it looked like a fancy sauna with a monster inside, who later turned into a woman without the monster suit.

‘RAGE RAGE (do not go gentle)’ by Marjan Teeuwen and Tilmann Meyer-Faje.

A big fat brain attached to a car. Funny to see, because I’m busy producing a giant (extern) brain myself(!).

And when there’s a ‘looking down’ there’s also a ‘looking up’ picture. Thank you Rem Koolhaas.

RAW Art Fair Rotterdam 2014

Yesterday I’ve been to the RAW Art Fair in the Cruise Terminal in Rotterdam. Unlike last year I decided to put my favourites directly on the blog, because afterwards it was too much of a search to connect the right artist to the right work. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to remember or find all the names this time, but that should not spoil the fun of radomly sharing these great works with you:

Happy new year Deskback

Happy new year!
I hope 2014 will bring you all the nice things which you actually expected to have received in 2013, but didn’t happen. And of course all the nice things you do not expect at all! (We’ll get back to that in January 2015.)

Below you’ll find one of my good intentions for 2014:

10280929874
(I’m sorry to tell  you I don’t know who the maker of this piece of type art is. If someone knows, I’ll post the name and website immediately.)

Wanderlust in the broadest sentence of the word. Enjoying holidays more (I’m a bit of a stay-at-home), enjoying the journey to a design more, keep being curious about everything, don’t lose the ‘FUN’ of things.

Having this said (to myself) the year has started!
